Foot pain and injury are extremely common. They can present with varying degrees of pain and discomfort.
Foot pain can be sourced from many anatomical structures such as muscles, ligaments, bones and joint.
Foot complaints can also be referred from your lower back, altered biomechanics at the hip and knee joint and from systemic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
Common foot complaints include ankle sprains, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, ankle fractures, metatarsalgia, morton’s neuroma, achilles tendonitis and sever’s disease.
Because foot pain can have so many causes it is very important to have foot pain assessed by a Chartered physiotherapist with an expertise in the management of foot pain. Only then can you be confident that your foot pain treatment is managing the “right” cause of your foot pain.
At PhysioPlus, all physiotherapists have completed additional training on biomechanics and foot and ankle rehabilitation.
